The Novapack Project

NOVAPACK (NOVel solutions based on natural resources for sustainable Antimicrobial food and biomedical PACKaging: a circular economy approach) project is funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), which uses funds from the European Union as part of NextGeneration EU. The research proposal aims to design and produce novel biopolymer systems containing functional extracts (namely, antimicrobial and antioxidant products derived from lactic acid fermentation of agricultural wastes and by-products) for innovative disposable food and biomedical packaging applications, hence fulfilling the current circular economy concept.
